Prince Street Centre is a multi-phase development plan incorporating what was previously Stadel Volvo, Swisher Tobacco Warehouse, Buckwalter Warehouse, and numerous row houses. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 18, 1989, the former tobacco warehouses located on the East side of Prince Street were originally built in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. The previously underutilized buildings have once again become a fundamental part of the attraction of Lancaster’s architecture, heritage, interesting alley ways, and friendly people. The plan consisted of three phases with each phase focusing on one of the three primary buildings in the project.
Phase I of Prince Street Centre consisted of the relocation of Wentworth Publishing Company, Inc. into what was previously Stadel Volvo. The building itself consists of 43,500 square feet and has been remodeled to accommodate both Wentworth’s printing facility and their corporate offices. Indoor parking has also been made available on two levels of the building.

Phase II of Prince Street Centre was designed to utilize the wide-open spaces and exposed high beam ceilings of the Buckwalter Warehouse. The wide-open spaces allowed for the creation of unique residential, commercial, and restaurant spaces. The Buckwalter Building is home of The Brickyard Sports Bar as well as Premier Companies. The residential floor plans include one bedroom, one bedroom with study, two bedrooms, and two bedrooms with study apartments to accommodate a variety of lifestyles.

Phase III of Prince Street Centre incorporated the Swisher Tobacco Warehouse with the adjacent parking lot to create 19,000 square feet of office and commercial space as well as 24 residential apartments. Two separate main entrances are currently under construction, including a porte chochere entrance with a multi-story atrium on the north side of the building. The atrium provides an open feel for all residents. Facing Prince Street on the east side of the building will be a pull in/drop off area onto an outdoor courtyard for the bi-level restaurant located in the building.

These three multi-use buildings offer commercial office space, restaurant/entertainment space and luxury apartments available for lease. All contain unique details such as original wood floors, exposed brick, and beams true to their historic origin but updated for today’s contemporary use. Prince Street Centre promises to be an exciting place to live, work, and play!
